Chinese premier urges closer exchanges with Thailand

BANGKOK, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Tuesday met here with Chuan Leekpai, president of the Thai National Assembly and speaker of the House of Representatives, and called for closer exchanges between the two nations.

In the meeting, Li spoke highly of the current relations between China and Thailand and commended the Thai parliament for its consistent efforts in advancing the bilateral friendship.

Aussie govt wants Malaysia to drop conditions on Lynas

BANGKOK, Nov 5 (NNN-BERNAMA) — The Australian government is hoping that Malaysia will drop conditions imposed on rare earth company Lynas Malaysia Sdn Bhd operating in Gebeng, Kuantan.

This was among the matters raised in talks between Malaysian Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his Australian counterpart Scott Morrison on the sidelines of the 35th ASEAN Summit here Monday.

“They (Australian government) are hoping we will drop the conditions,” he told Malaysian media covering his participation in the regional gathering here Monday.

15 countries involved in RCEP conclude negotiations without India

BANGKOK , Nov 5 (NNN-BERNAMA) — The 15 participating countries in the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) have concluded the negotiations Monday night, leaving India out of the deal which would have been the largest trade pact in the world.

The RCEP, which went through after seven years of intense negotiations, was successfully wrapped up at the 35th ASEAN Summit here Monday night.

Russia favors creation of Greater Eurasian Partnership with ASEAN

BANGKOK, November 3. /TASS/. Russia advocates the establishment of the Greater Eurasian Partnership involving the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said at the Business and Investment Summit of the Association of ASEAN.

"We advocate the formation of the Greater Eurasian Partnership with the participation of member states of the Eurasian Economic Union, ASEAN, SCO and other possible structures," he said.

Malaysia still in talks with Goldman Sachs over 1MDB compensation

Russia’s PM Medvedev meets with Cambodian counterpart in Bangkok

BANGKOK, November 3. /TASS/: Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev met with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on the sidelines of the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit in Bangkok on Sunday.

The two Premieres greeted each other warmly.

"During multilateral events, our meetings have become a good tradition," Medvedev said at the start of the talks. He also asked his counterpart to give his regards to the King of Cambodia.

The negotiations continued behind closed doors.
