Islamabad, Mar 28 (PTI) Pakistan on Thursday clarified that it has no plan to resume trade relations with India which has been "non-existent" since 2019 after the Indian government abrogated Article 370 of the Constitution to revoke the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.

The clarification from Pakistan's Foreign Office comes days after the new Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said in London that Pakistan will seriously consider restoring trade ties with India that have remained suspended since August 2019.

Islamabad, Mar 20 (PTI) Pakistan's jailed former prime minister Imran Khan on Wednesday approached the Supreme Court to form a judicial commission comprising serving judges to probe the authenticity of last month's elections marred by allegations of rigging.

The general elections were held on February 8 but Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf refused to accept the outcome by alleging that the results were manipulated.

Pakistan-IMF reach staff-level agreement on releasing last tranche of USD 3 billion bailout

Islamabad/Washington, Mar 20 (PTI) The IMF on Wednesday said it has reached a staff-level agreement with the new government in cash-strapped Pakistan on the final review of a USD 3 billion bailout, paving the way for the release of the last USD 1.1 billion tranche from the global lender.

The agreement, however, is subject to the approval of the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to be held in April.

China and Pakistan navies hold drills in Arabian Sea; to conduct first maritime patrols

Karachi, Nov 13 (PTI) The Chinese and Pakistani navies are holding week-long drills in the Arabian Sea during which the two all-weather allies will also conduct joint maritime patrols for the first time, a media report said on Monday.

The Chinese and Pakistani navies at a naval base in Karachi on Saturday kicked off the 'Sea Guardians-3' exercise in the waters and airspace of the northern Arabian Sea in drills that include anti-submarine operations, Dawn News reported on the exercises which will end on Friday.

The Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court (IHC) turned down a plea by the country’s key investigation agency seeking an in-camera trial of the ex-premier’s bail application in the “cipher case”, which is related to a diplomatic document that reportedly went missing from his possession.

Pakistan sets 1 November deadline for 'illegal immigrants' to leave

03 October 2023; MEMO: Pakistan, on Tuesday, gave a one-month deadline to all the “illegal immigrants” to leave the country, Anadolu Agency reports.

Addressing a news conference in the capital, Islamabad, caretaker Interior Minister, Sarfraz Bugti, said the government is giving a deadline to all foreigners living illegally to leave the country by 1 November.

After the deadline, he said, all the illegal immigrants will be deported.

Multinational special forces drill concludes in Pakistan

01 October 2023; MEMO: A two-week multinational exercise involving special forces from Türkiye, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Qatar, and Uzbekistan concluded in northwest Pakistan on Sunday, Anadolu Agency reports.

The “Eternal Brotherhood-II” exercise was begun on Sept. 17 in Brotha, in the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
