IAEA voices serious concern at Iran's stonewalling on old sites

06 June 2020; MEMO: The UN nuclear watchdog expressed serious concern on Friday that Iran has continued for months to deny it access to sites of interest to it, describing previous suspected activities there that could have been part of a nuclear weapons programme, Reuters reports.

The International Atomic Energy Agency issued a report in March admonishing Iran for failing to answer questions about past nuclear activities at three sites and for denying it access to two of them.

VIENNA, June 5. /TASS/: The Western media's publication of a confidential report on nuclear inspections in Iran reveals that the regime of confidentiality is no longer working in the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Russia’s permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail UIyanov, said on Friday.

According to the Russian envoy, the report was intended for states members of the IAEA Board of Governors. However, minutes after being handed over to them, the report leaked to Western news agencies, which published excerpts from it.

VIENNA, May 29 (Xinhua) -- The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries' (OPEC) daily basket price stood at 28.45 U.S. dollars a barrel on Thursday, compared with 29.03 dollars on Wednesday, according to OPEC Secretariat calculations released on Friday.

Also known as the OPEC reference basket of crude oil, the OPEC basket, a weighted average of oil prices from different OPEC members around the world, is used as an important benchmark for crude oil prices. 

Austria: OPEC calls for full implementation of OPEC+ deal

TASS, May 2: President of the OPEC Conference and Algeria’s Minister of Energy Mohamed Arkab called on OPEC and non-OPEC cointries to fully implement the oil production limiting agreement, OPEC says on its website on Saturday.

"In the face of unprecedented difficulties facing the oil market, it is of the utmost importance that all the signatory countries fully implement the voluntary production reduction agreement and that the objective is to ensure a conformity of over 100%," the Minister said.

OPEC ministers and allies discuss ‘dramatic’ oil situation

VIENNA, April 22 (NNN-AGENCIES) — The OPEC alliance of oil producers said “several” member states, and some of its allies in the OPEC+ grouping, held a teleconference Tuesday to discuss the plunge in oil prices caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The organisation tweeted that ministers held an “informal teleconference to brainstorm the current dramatic oil market situation” but it was not clear whether Saudi Arabia, OPEC’s largest producer, took part.

Chancellor Kurz promises "comeback" for Austria as business location

VIENNA, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz vowed on Friday that Austria would make a "comeback" as a business location after overcoming the coronavirus pandemic.

"I would like to be able to look back in a year with you and say: we have overcome the disease, we have saved lives together and we have made a comeback as a business location," said Kurz before the members of the National Council, all of whom were wearing masks.
