Gurgaon, Oct 12 (PTI) Two unidentified man posing as police officers allegedly stole over Rs 4.50 lakh from the wallet of two Iraqi nationals in Gurgaon, officials said.

Karwan Taha Mohhammed, along with his friend, had come here for the treatment of his brother at a private hospital.

They were returning to their guest house in an auto when the fraudsters in a white car intercepted their vehicle near Kanhai traffic intersection.

Chandigarh, Oct 4 (PTI) Two-time former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) leader Dushyant Chautala, his mother Naina Chautala, sportsmen Sandeep Singh and Yogeshwar Dutt were among the 1,263 candidates who filed their nominations on Friday, the last day of filing of papers for the Assembly polls in Haryana.

The total number of nominations filed for 90 assembly seats are 1,846, an election office spokesman said here.

Gurgaon, Sep 30 (PTI) A 24-year-old man was arrested for allegedly molesting and assaulting a woman here after she rejected his marriage proposal, police said on Monday.

The incident occurred in Sector 5 here on Saturday night when the 25-year-old woman was on her way home, they said.

Gurgaon, Sep 25 (PTI) A man was arrested here on Wednesday for allegedly raping his minor stepdaughter, a police official said.

The nine-year-old went to her aunt's residence in Delhi's Uttam Nagar and told her about the incident, following which a zero FIR was registered against the accused at Uttam Nagar police station, Gurgaon police PRO Subhash Bokan said.

Gurgaon, Sep 17 (PTI) A 54-year-old man accused of attempting to rape a minor girl here was arrested Tuesday, police said.

The eight-year-old girl was sleeping with her parents when the accused, a resident of the same building, took her to his room, Gurgaon police PRO Subhas Bokan said.

Hearing the girl scream, her mother woke up and started looking for her. She reached the room of the accused where she found him sexually harassing her, Bokan said.

Gurgaon, Sep 10 (PTI) A 48-year-old government school teacher was arrested here for allegedly molesting girl students, police said on Tuesday.

"The teacher was arrested on Monday soon after the complaint against him was lodged at the Farukhnagar police station," said Gurgaon police PRO Subhash Bokan,

The accused was arrested from his residence in Gurgaon, he added.

New Delhi, Sep 9 (PTI) A 63-year-old man filed a case on Monday against the in-laws of her daughter for allegedly killing her for dowry in Rohini's Kanjhawala area, police said.

In his complaint, Lakhi Ram, a resident of Kaithal in Haryana, stated that his daughter Meena married Ajay on January 21, 2015 in Qutubgarh village.

Gurgaon, Sep 8 (PTI) The district court here sentenced three persons to life in jail for the gang rape and murder of a bar dancer.

The crime had taken place on February 23, 2016, at Chakkharpur village when the convicts, identified as Vipin (20), his brother Nitiesh Kumar (20), residents of Pataudi; and their friend Monu (24), a resident of Raisina village, in an inebriate condition raped the victim before killing her at a rented accommodation.

Gurgaon, Sep 7 (PTI) A man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting his two minor daughters in Sohna area, police said on Saturday.

The incident was reported to a woman police post here on Friday by the mother of the victims who is from Nepal.

The woman in her complaint said that her husband, who worked as a labourer here, raped her 17-year-old daughter from her first marriage in her absence.

Chandigarh, Sep 7 (PTI) Haryana Congress's newly appointed president Kumari Selja on Saturday said the party will fight the state polls collectively by moving in "fast-forward mode".

Stressing that the allocation of tickets will be done soon, Selja said all sections of society, including youth and women, will be accommodated in ticket distribution.
