VIENNA, December 6. /TASS/: President of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen swore in the new Chancellor of the republic Karl Nehammer in the Hofburg residence Monday. Nehammer succeeded Alexander Schallenberg, who will now once again lead to Foreign Ministry of Austria.

Following Sebastian Kurz's resignation of as the leader of the People’s Party of Austria on December 3, Nehammer was appointed as his successor, which, considering the People’s Party government coalition with The Greens, made him the head of the government.

  VIENNA, Dec 5 (NNN-AGENCIES) — An avalanche in the Salzburg region killed three people and injured two while they were skiing off-piste, Austria’s Red Cross said Saturday.

  The accident happened Saturday about 2,400 metres up in the Lungau district, soon after 1:45 pm local time, Red Cross spokesman Anton Schilcher told the APA agency.

  The snow buried eight of the group up to 4.5 metres deep, local emergency response official Christoph Wiedl told local media.

03 Dec 2021; MEMO: The latest round of talks between Iran and other parties to the 2015 nuclear deal in Vienna ended on Friday without any significant breakthrough, Anadolu News Agency reports.

The parties — Iran and the P4+1 countries — are expected to reconvene in the Austrian capital next week after holding consultations in their respective capitals.

The decision was taken after a meeting of the joint commission of the nuclear deal, also known as the joint comprehensive plan of action (JCPOA), in the afternoon.

The board set up a new agenda suggested by China, and for the first time dedicated discussions on the "Transfer of nuclear materials in the context of AUKUS and its safeguards in all aspects under the NPT (Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons)."
