Afghanistan’s Exports Reached Nearly Two Billion U.S. Dollars In 2023

KABUL, Jan 2 (NNN-ANA) – Afghanistan’s exports in 2023 reached nearly two billion U.S. dollars, spokesman for the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Akhundzada Abdul Salam Jawad, said.

“The volume of Afghanistan’s exports in the past year reached 1.9 billion U.S. dollars, and the figure shows a two percent increase, which is equal to 41 million U.S. dollars, against the export volume in 2022,” the private television channel, Tolonews, quoted Jawad as saying today.

Majority of the goods had been exported to Pakistan, India, China, United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, citing the official, the media outlet added.

Earlier, the Afghan caretaker government’s acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, Nooruddin Azizi, said, Afghanistan exports its products to more than 60 countries, including the neighbouring states.

Afghanistan’s main export items include coal, saffron, fresh and dry fruits, hand woven carpet, precious and semi-precious stones.
