Syrian, Russian Presidents Hold Phone Talks On Gaza Situation

DAMASCUS, Oct 17 (NNN-SANA) – Syrian President, Bashar al-Assad, and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, held a phone conversation yesterday, to discuss the pressing situation in the Gaza Strip.

The two leaders highlighted the urgency in the immediate delivery of humanitarian aid to the besieged, densely-populated enclave, and discussed ways to stop Israeli shelling and the displacement of Palestinians in Gaza, it reported.

At least 2,750 Palestinians, including women and children, were killed by the Israeli army in Gaza.

US sends radar system to its forces in Syria

16 October 2023; MEMO: The United States provided its forces in the Deir Ez-Zor province in eastern Syria with a radar system after oil fields in the area were attacked by “groups backed by Iran,” local sources reported.

The sources told the Anadolu Agency that US forces brought four radar systems from Iraq to their base in the Al-Shaddadah area, in Al-Hasakah province, northeastern Syria, through the Al-Walid border gate on Saturday.

US jet shoots down Turkiye drone in Syria

06 October 2023; MEMO: The United States, on Thursday, shot down an armed Turkish drone that was operating near its troops in Syria, US officials said, the first time Washington has brought down an aircraft of NATO ally, Turkiye, Reuters reports.

A Turkish Defence Ministry official said the drone shot down by the US-led coalition did not belong to the Turkish armed forces but did not say whose property it was.

DAMASCUS, Sept 19 (Reuters) - Syrian President Bashar al-Assad will travel to China this week for a bilateral summit with his Chinese counterpart, the presidency in Damascus said in a statement on Tuesday.

Assad, Syrian first lady Asmaa al-Assad and a senior delegation will travel to China on Thursday for a string of meetings in Beijing and Changzhou. Presidents Assad and Xi would hold a Syrian-Chinese summit, the statement said.
