Hezbollah attacks Israeli forces near border with southern Lebanon

03 March 2024; MEMO: Lebanese group Hezbollah said Sunday that it had targeted an Israeli military force in southern Lebanon, causing casualties, Anadolu reports.

The Israeli force was attacked with “appropriate weapons” near the town of Wazzani, resulting in direct hits, Hezbollah said in a statement.

Hezbollah also said its fighters struck an Israeli surveillance system near the border, resulting in direct hits.

Israeli Air Force attacks Hezbollah outposts in south Lebanon

BEIRUT, January 19. /TASS/: Israeli Air Force planes carried out massive strikes at Hezbollah outposts in south Lebanon.

A source in the civil defense of the city of Marjaayoun told TASS that four air-based missiles were launched at Shia militants’ positions at the Jabal Blat heights.

"Several powerful explosions occurred, that were heard in the port of Tyre and the Bint Jbeil area," the source said. "Thick smoke rose from the bombing location; it is probable that an ammunition depot was hit during the attack."

4 armed men killed after clashing with Israeli forces on Lebanese-Israeli borders

BEIRUT, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Four militants were killed in armed clashes with an Israeli force after the armed group managed on Sunday dawn to infiltrate the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms, Lebanese military sources told Xinhua.

The sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Xinhua the unidentified armed group was able to break through the barbed wire fence placed by the Israeli army in the Baathail Lake and enter within an unspecified distance into an occupied area of the Shebaa Farms located between the Israeli sites of Ruwaisat al-Alam and al-Samaqa.

Israel’s military says no damage was caused in a strike on an army base in northern Israel

GHANDOURIYEH, Lebanon (AP) — Israel’s military said no damage was caused to one of its army bases in northern Israel after Hezbollah said it launched explosive drones Tuesday toward the area, while an Israeli drone strike in Lebanon killed three members of the militant group, officials said.

The Israeli military did not specify exactly where the base was located. Hezbollah said it targeted the Israeli army’s northern command headquarters in Safed with several drones.

BEIRUT (AP) — The TV station of Lebanon’s Hezbollah group says top Hamas official Saleh Arouri was killed Tuesday in an explosion in a southern Beirut suburb.

Arouri, one of the founders of Hamas’ military wing, had headed the group’s presence in the West Bank. Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had threatened to kill him even before the Hamas-Israel war began on Oct. 7.

Israeli officials declined to comment.

Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency said the blast killed four people and was carried out by an Israeli drone.
