Saudi made it clear Palestine is part of any deal with Israel; Blinken

15 September 2023; MEMO: US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken yesterday revealed that Saudi Arabia has made it clear to the United States that issues related to the Palestinians will be an essential part of any future agreement with Israel.

“It is also clear from what we hear from the Saudis that if this process is to move forward, the Palestinian piece is going to be very important too,” Blinken said, adding, “Normalisation cannot come at the expense of the Palestinian cause.”

US sanctions 5 Turkiye firms for 'supporting' Moscow

15 September 2023; MEMO: The Biden administration, on Thursday, imposed sanctions on five Turkish companies and a Turkish national, accusing them of helping Russia evade sanctions and supporting Moscow in its war against Ukraine, Reuters reports.

According to the report, the companies are accused of helping repair sanctioned vessels tied to Russia’s Defence Ministry and helping the transfer of “dual-use goods”.

No India-Mideast- EU economic corridor without Turkiye; Erdogan

12 September 2023; MEMO: Turkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said yesterday that plans announced by India, Saudi Arabia and the EU to create a trade corridor that would link South Asia to Europe and bypass Turkiye “will not work”.

Speaking to reporters upon his return from the G20 summit in India, Erdogan stressed that the most suitable traffic line from east to west is the line crossing from Turkiye.

Saudi Envoy arrives in Tehran

05 September 2023; MEMO: Saudi Arabia’s first Ambassador to Iran since resumption of diplomatic relations arrived in Tehran to assume official duties, the Saudi Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday, Anadolu Agency reports.

“The Kingdom and Iran are neighbours and possess many economic components, natural resources and advantages that contribute to enhancing aspects of development, prosperity, stability and security in the region,” Ambassador Abdullah Al-Anzi said.

Saudi Arabia extends voluntary oil cuts to year end

07 September 2023; MEMO: Saudi Arabia will extend its voluntary oil production cut of one million barrels per day (bpd) until the end of the year, the kingdom’s energy ministry announced yesterday.

The ministry said in a statement that oil production from October to December will be approximately nine million (bpd).
