BISHKEK, March 10. /TASS/: In 2023, Kyrgyzstan will host the CSTO’s peacekeeping exercise Indestructible Brotherhood, President Sadyr Japarov said at a meeting with CSTO Secretary-General Imangali Tasmagambetov in Bishkek on Friday.

"Sadyr Japarov said that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to cooperation within the CSTO as a guarantor of security in the region. In order to coordinate military, informational and humanitarian measures, Kyrgyzstan plans to conduct the Indestructible Brotherhood - 2023 exercises on its territory this year with the CSTO peacekeeping forces," the presidential press service said.

Japarov highlighted the lingering threat "of international terrorists who have gained combat and sabotage experience in various trouble spots and who move between different countries in order to recruit accomplices and carry out terrorist acts."

"Our countries are no exception in this regard. It is necessary to strengthen the relevant work for responding in a timely manner to and thus preventing potentially destructive occurrences. Kyrgyzstan has been taking appropriate measures aimed at ensuring the country's security and stability," the press service quotes Japarov as saying.

This year, the CSTO peacekeeping exercise was to be held in Armenia. However, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that it would be inappropriate to hold Indestructible Brotherhood - 2023 in his country for the time being.
